Do You Need a Shower to Shower Cancer Attorney?
This absorbant and deodorizing body powder product (Shower to Shower) was marketed toward women to be used after showering in their genital area. Around for nearly (50) fifty years, it was created by Johnson & Johnson but later sold it to Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. in 2012. In 2018 and in order to change their image due to a series of scandals, the name was charged to Bausch Health Companies. Presently there are (5) five different product types of Shower to Shower: Original Fresh, Breeze Fresh, Island Fresh, Morning Fresh and Sport. The company once claimed that it was okay for women to use Shower to Shower all over their body every day as it soothes, refreshes and gives you the extra protection you need to keep you dry and confident.
Unfortunately, like Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder, the main ingredient of Shower to Shower was talc which has been linked to ovarian cancer. As a result of the thousands of lawsuits have been filed claiming that its talc particles were contaminated with asbestos, a known carcinogen that causes cancer. In 2018, the company changed the Shower to Shower product active ingredient from talc to corn starch. Bausch Health did not initially disclose the switch, and a company spokesperson stated the change was not made due to any safety concerns. Frankly, Bausch may not have publicized the reformulation of its Shower to Shower products because it didn’t want to undermine its legal defenses in the existing talcum powder litigation. Prior to this action, Bausch has been accused of hiding evidence that their talc-based Shower to Shower products were laced with asbestos. The change in the Shower to Shower formula only came to light after J&J tested a single lot of Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder. Although J&J stated that there was no trace of asbestos, the F.D.A.’s own investigation found otherwise. As a result, several large retailers pulled some of the Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder from its shelves. The talc based Shower to Shower products however have not yet been recalled.
